Not much actual story in this little tidbit, but it did include lots of world-building. Definitely seemed to be setting the stage for future endeavors in the series. Troy acts like a big jerk much of the time, especially at the pairing party; and Reem seems naive beyond belief. But the two characters seem to make a real connection in the short span of the narrative. That was probably the biggest flaw for me - how quickly Reem went from fearing that Troy would kill and eat her, to playfully antagonizing him. Of course, the reader knows that Troy cares about Reem and is more invested in her welfare than he lets on, but she doesn't know that. Still, it was a good, short, sexy read. I'll definitely be checking out other volumes in the series.Product details

This book didn’t really impressed me but I’m glad that I decided to check out the remaining books via Unlimited. The books got better as the stories progressed. I fell in love with this series. I especially loved that the main characters had what most people consider physical flaws. It made them getting their happily ever after all the more rewarding. I have added her to my list of authors to follow.
About 60 pgs. No cliffhanger but also not enough of a story to have a plot. This was my first story by this author and in this series. I did get a good introduction to the differences in the humans and beasts and what the world was like. Steamy scenes but very short. I did like the main characters Troy and Reem and neither was cruel to the other. Just cultural differences and lack of understanding of each other overcome by lust. It was free when I purchased in store and I might one click the next to read a longer story in this world.
Kind of weary about how this portrays women in public as a possession of the beast (male) and disrespected in public and in front of her family....which sold her. No love involved.
This series....like crack for a pnr/sci-fi junkie. Read this yesterday, then the 2nd book or 1st full book, now reading the next book....stayed up late to do it and did not want to go to bed.....see crack for the pnr/sci-fi junkie....just one more page, just one more book.....one more click. The men are so blunt, I find it highly amusing. Damn it....total crack. Oh and it's free right now on .....you're welcome.

A quick bite of sexy, fun, smut!
I have read and totally loved Blind Beast Mate, book #1 of the series. So, when I was buying book two I saw this gift from Ms. Jacks to the readers.
This is a very fast read. It's just a little snippet of the world-built for the series. It also offers a glimpse of Jamie and Rey.
Oh, I cannot forget to say this is H.O.T! Really good smut.

OMG!!! I'm a cover slut and I love how the art work for this book is a prologue of the story. There is so much to learn from this cover.
You MAY read this because you smut; you SHOULD read this if you want a little glimpse of the world-built; you MUST read this if you enjoy the series!!!

Cute and humorous, but little bit jumpy.
Still it is basically well written and flows quickly.
Keeps you interested and leaves you wanting another taste.
The end leads into the next book in the series.
It just crosses into the erotica mark by a margin or so.
Reem, the female mc is funny and a real smartass. I like her.
Troy is very naughty. I like him too.
I will definitely be checking out more books in this series and by this author.

What a nice change in an Alien Romance. A Post Apocalypse World where Aliens known as "Beasts" to the humans who survived the apocalypse in small communities called Sanctuaries. The Beasts unknown to the humans seek mates among the humans and when they find them they immediately know the human female is their mate.. The humans only know that the beasts seek a pair and there are rumors among the humans that the Beasts will eat the female pair if she doesn't please them.
